Border Model are to release an "IJA Tiger 1 (Limited Edition)" (BT-023) in 1/35th scale.
An IJA tank commander figure is included.
The figure does look very decent.
Some photo-etched palm fronds are included.
n the real world, Japan did purchase one "Mid" Tiger for testing. It was never shipped to them.
This model depicts an alternate universe wherein the Japanese placed their order months earlier, and therefore obtained an Early Tiger. They were able to ship it to Japan. And then? Instead of sending it to the test grounds, they put the expensive and near irreplaceable Tiger into action? Perhaps, in this timeline, the Japanese bought a whole batch of Tigers.
