Description
The Opel Blitz was the main German truck of the Second World War. Used substantially on all fronts and in large numbers, it can be considered the real cargo “mule” of the Wehrmacht. The chassis, the robust shock absorber system with rigid axles with leaf springs and the rear axle characterized by twin wheels were able to withstand a payload of more than 3 tons. The easy-to-maintain 3,600 cc Opel engine produced 75 hp. The most popular version was the 4x2 with rear wheel drive. However, there was a 4x4 version that operated both in the Russian lands and in the African deserts. Made in several thousand copies, thanks to its flexibility and large rear load compartment.
