• 1/35 scale Italian L6/40 Light Tank plastic model kit by LANMO Model (Kit No. MM35009)
• Represents the historic Carro Armato L6/40, an Italian light tank developed and deployed during World War II
• Manufactured by Fiat-Ansaldo, one of Italy's principal military vehicle manufacturers
• The L6/40 was designed as a compact reconnaissance and light combat vehicle for the Royal Italian Army (Regio Esercito)
• Entered Italian military service in 1941, replacing earlier light tank designs in certain operational roles
• Features the distinctive compact hull, centrally mounted turret and narrow tracked running gear
• Armed with a 20mm Breda Model 35 automatic cannon and a coaxial 8mm Breda machine gun
• The 20mm cannon provided greater firepower than the machine-gun armament fitted to many earlier Italian light tanks
• Powered by a Fiat SPA petrol engine, providing mobility for reconnaissance and light support duties
• The original vehicle weighed approximately 6.8 tonnes, making it considerably lighter than contemporary medium tanks
• Designed with a two-man crew, consisting of a driver and commander/gunner
• Its relatively small dimensions made the L6/40 suitable for reconnaissance, patrol and security operations
• The L6/40 featured a conventional tracked suspension arrangement suitable for varied terrain
• Protected by relatively thin armour, reflecting its intended role as a light reconnaissance tank rather than a heavily armoured combat vehicle
• Served with Italian forces during the North African Campaign, although its light armour and armament limited its effectiveness against more powerful Allied tanks
• Also deployed in the Balkans, Italy and other European theatres during WWII
• Used for reconnaissance, infantry support, convoy protection and anti-partisan operations
• Following the Italian Armistice in September 1943, captured L6/40 tanks were employed by German forces
• German-operated examples received the designation Pz.Kpfw. L6/40 733(i)
• The L6/40 chassis also formed the basis for the Italian Semovente L40 da 47/32 self-propelled anti-tank gun
• Represents an important stage in the development of Italian armoured fighting vehicles during World War II
• 1/35 scale provides an excellent balance between display size and modelling detail
• Ideal for collectors of WWII Italian tanks, Regio Esercito vehicles, light armour and Axis military equipment
• Excellent companion to Italian M13/40 tanks, AB41 armoured cars, Semovente self-propelled guns and WWII Italian infantry figures
• Suitable for North African desert campaigns, Balkan operations, Italian military patrols and WWII European dioramas
• Offers opportunities for historically inspired Italian sand, grey-green and camouflage finishes, depending on the chosen theatre and period
• Ideal for realistic dust accumulation, chipped paint, track wear, mud effects and operational weathering
• The compact turret and distinctive Italian hull design make this an interesting alternative to conventional German and Allied WWII tanks
• A distinctive addition to any collection of Italian military vehicles and WWII armoured warfare subjects
• Kit supplied unpainted and unassembled
• Glue and paint not included
• Recommended for experienced modellers aged 14+
